Dog Teams at West Albany serve two very important functions:
- Dog Teams provide each of our students with a single staff member who will get to know them on a personal level for all four years of their high school career. This may or may not be a teacher that a student has for other classes throughout their high school career, but Dog Team teachers are there for students to provide guidance and assistance with a variety of topics.
- Dog Teams are also how we meet the Career Related Learning Standards (CRLS) which are required for graduation. In Dog Teams, throughout high school, students will be exposed to a variety of career fields, explore and research specific fields of interest, develop tools for future career paths (resume, cover letter, interview tips, etc.) and develop some of the “soft skills” that can be the key to obtaining the job they REALLY want.
